Sept 30 Huddersfield Town 2-2 AFC Bournemouth Att: 11350

AFCB started off well, with Foley having an early effort saved by Glennon.

Huddersfield started to play the better football, but on 9 minutes a Foley free kick from the right was not properly dealt with by Town. The first clearance only fell to Cooper who caused problems in the area and Hayter pounced to make it 0-1.

Town came back into it, and an Abbott effort was cleared by last ditch effort from Gowling. Moments later Gowling was clearing off the line from a McIntosh header from a corner.

Town were now on top. Collins had an effort go just over the bar, and then it was 1-1. Taylor-Fletcher gathered the ball around 30 yards from goal and went on a run with AFCB players forgetting how to tackle. He got to the edge of the box, ran across the non-tackling defence to fire home on 27 minutes.

Abbott had a tame effort in the box go straight into Stewart's arms. Glennon then had to punch clear from under his bar from an Anderton delivery. Then Abbott headed over the bar after a cross found him.

A shot from Anderton was diverted over, and the resulting corner saw the ref blow for a foul on the keeper.

Hudson was fouled by Anderton and the resulting free kick was blocked with his chest with Town claiming handball.

Then Best, managing to stay onside, had a shot on the turn tipped around the post.

HT: 1-1

AFCB started the half better and a through ball from Cooper saw a Best shot saved.

Town had another half chance before AFCB went 1-2 up on 48 minutes. A long ball saw Hayter go up with two Town defenders - they all missed it which left Best clear to shoot home.

Town started to push for an equaliser, while at the other end Glennon had to be quick off the mark to save in front of Best. However, it was soon 2-2 when a hopeful ball caused confusion between Broadhurst and Young: Broadhurst I think should have cut it out, but left Young on the back foot to be out-tussled by Becket who rounded Stewart to score.

A Cooper corner was met by Hayter but his header went just wide. Then a Cooper shot went just wide from a Purches cross and it finished 2-2.

An entertaining game at times. We do need someone to teach Best the offside rule. We sometimes seem to lack communication at the back, and Purches at times was so far forward with no one covering him at the back.

Man Of The MatchHayter, Cooper and Purches all had good games. But my choice goes to Gowling, at times he looked real good at the back. A couple of excellent tackles and dealt with most things in the air.

AFCB: Stewart, Young, Gowling, Broadhurst. Purches, Cummings, Foley, Cooper, Anderton, Hayter, Best
Subs: Moss, Hollands, Hart, Fletcher (for Foley, 72), Browning (on for Anderton, 61)
